The AECO (Architect Engineer Contractor Owner) supply chain is often contracted to handover a digital model of what has been built – the digital twin. Assuring that the digital twin matches the delivered construction requires a new emphasis on quality with better methods of dimensional compliance checking where accurate models are relied upon. Much time and energy is often wasted by the building operations team manually recreating and capturing data that has already existed in the construction design models. This talk will explain the need for quality within the supply chain and the integrated workflow and new tools that are required to efficiently deliver such accurate digital twins such that they can be relied upon. Final take away are some recommendations for Owners and FM Operators to include in construction or small works contracts. See www.bimandscan.com
