Rob Greenfield

Robert has over 25 years experience in FM with the last 14 specialising in Safety Health Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) having started his career as a Research and Development Engineer within the Ministry of Defence (Atomic Weapons Research Establishment). Robert has worked in a number of building managing agent companies as well as within the contracting element of the hard FM sector where he has a wealth of experience in the development of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) operational strategy of large multi site portfolios.

Robert runs his own Environmental, Health and Safety Consultancy Assured Safety & Risk Management Limited and is currently engaged by a number of Global FM clients and is providing advise on Compliance Strategies, Fire Safety Management and Sustainability Development.

Robert is a regular writer for the BIFM magazine FM-World and has assisted the HSE in the development of the ‘Shattered Lives’ and ‘Asbestos-The Hidden Killer’ campaigns.

Robert is the past Deputy Chairman of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) and current Chairman of the BIFM Health & Safety Specialist Interest Group.

Robert also sits on the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Health & Safety Committee, Construction Industry Council (CIC) Health & Safety Committee and the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) Asbestos Liaison Group (ALG).

Robert is the co-author of the health and safety manual for FM’s titled ‘Simply Safety’ and also the BIFM good practice guides ‘The Management of the Health and Safety Performance of Contractors’ & ‘Fire Safety Management’.

In his spare time Robert is a Help for Heroes charity volunteer and fundraises by competing in a number of long distance cycling events.
